Weight Loss: Visualization and Weight Loss - Watch the Pounds Fall Off! - Part 8

The amazing fact is that many conditions can be improved through visualization and weight loss is one of them. It works like this: you put a vision in your head of what you want your body to look like, and subconsciously you start acting in a way that will move in that direction. You will become more positive about your body, accept your diet or fitness regime and you will reach your weight goals faster and easier.

Bringing about change through visualization of desired outcomes has become increasingly acceptable in recent years. Psychologists don't quite understand how it works, but apparently, mind and body are not as separate as we often think. It seems that if you really want something, it's more likely to happen - provided it's possible and within your control. Visualization helps us actually lose weight by creating a clearer and happier picture of our fitter bodies. Without it, we can often find psychological traps in our path.

Many overweight people think they cannot lose weight. Sometimes you can say it out loud, or hear friends say it about you. In other people, this belief is in the subconscious. But it is certain that it influences our behavior. Someone who believes that it is impossible for her to lose weight will constantly fight against her own negativity when trying to diet. Her mind will constantly tell her that dieting is pointless and that she cannot lose weight, so she should go ahead and eat what she wants. Visualization is the most powerful technique we can use to overcome these negative thoughts and feelings.

If you're plagued with negativity, either from your own mind or from friends' and family's reactions to your diet, go ahead and visualize yourself at your desired weight as often as possible. It works on the same level as all those negative voices and can eliminate their influence like nothing else can.

It is important to exercise every day - morning and evening if you can. All you need to do is sit in a quiet place for a few minutes and have a picture in your head of your ideal body weight. Certain individuals can do this effectively, but others need some assistance. If you have a photo of yourself at your ideal weight in the past, it may be easier to see. Or use a photo from a magazine, but cut out the person's face. You have to imagine your body, but thin.

You can also visualize from within. Close your eyes and focus on one part of your body, such as your right thigh. Imagine it getting thinner and thinner in your mind's eye. Then move to the other thigh, and through the body. It may help to start at the feet and move to the head, or vice versa.

Think of yourself as your ideal weight as you go about your work or daily activities. Make your own confirmations and rehash them frequently, consistently in the current state ("I'm glad to be adaptable, fit, and slender", not "I will..."). Partake in the sensation of having a positive mental self-view. Over time, this will help you stick to your weight loss plan. You will find that fatty foods are less appealing and that exercising is more fun.

While your weight loss will naturally be gradual, the beauty of visualization is that it instantly gives you a new body image. Use visualization and weight loss today to make you happier!
